Founded in 1985 by Mr. V R Patil as a proprietorship, VR Patil Vividh Vidyuth Nirman Private Limited has grown into a leading name in electrical and civil engineering. In 2009 it became M/s VR Patil & Associates, later transitioning into a private limited company in 2013.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, with its founding office at Munirabad in Koppal District, the company has built a strong reputation for excellence in electrical line installations, sub-station maintenance and renewable energy projects — from the power grid to power generation. It serves Karnataka's power utilities — KPTCL, GESCOM, BESCOM and HESCOM on the record, with MESCOM, CHESCOM, KPCL and KREDL among the organisations it works for — and industry of every kind, public and private.

    1985– 2009

    Electrical and civil contractor

    Founded by Mr. V R Patil as a proprietorship at Hosalingapur, Munirabad, taking electrical and civil contract work in Koppal district and across north Karnataka.

    2009– 2013

    The practice becomes a partnership

    The firm reorganises as a partnership and widens its operations, moving from contract work into turnkey transmission and sub-station packages for the state utilities.

  3. Phase 03VR Patil Vividh Vidyuth Nirman Private Limited

    2013– 2016

    Incorporation as a private limited company

    The firm incorporates and takes its present name. From 2012-13 the record carries combined packages — a 220/11 kV sub-station with its transformer and line bays at HRG Alloys and Steels, and the Nirantara Jyoti feeder programmes across Kudligi, Hadagali, Raichur and Deodurga.

  4. Phase 04Chandragiri, Guttur and the company's own plant

    2016– 2019

    From the power grid to power generation

    Solar power plants are commissioned on 17 December 2016 — 1.1 MW plants under group entities and a 3.3 MW plant under the company itself — and the renewable practice is established while the utility work scales into the DDUGJY and Ganga Kalyan programmes.

  5. Phase 05

    2019– 2023

    Grid sub-stations at 220 kV

    The 220 kV grid work begins: 2 x 100 MVA 220/110/11 kV sub-stations at Koppal (Halavarthi), Gangavathi (Sulekal) and Shiggaon, the Tavaragera upgrade with its 26 km 110 kV line from Kustagi, and the first EHV underground cable packages in Hubballi and Bengaluru. In 2019 the group also founds Sri Sharada Foundation Trust, and with it Sri Sharada International School in Koppal.

  6. Phase 06

    2023– today

    Bengaluru, and the metropolitan network

    The work moves into the metropolitan distribution and transmission network — 220/66/11 kV sub-stations at Nagarabhavi and Banashankari, the 66/11 kV stations in Dr K. Shivarama Karantha Layout, overhead-to-underground conversion in Koramangala, and network strengthening across Kodagu and Chikkamagaluru.
